Welcome to the New and Improved A&P Online Shopping


Our new and improved online grocery shopping service is now available to our valued A&P shoppers. The new site features many new enhancements, so you can order all your groceries from the comfort and convenience of your home. It's our goal to make your shopping experience quick, easy and enjoyable.


This Help area is designed to provide additional instructions on how to navigate our new site. Please click on a section below for additional details.





CENTER PANEL


The contents of the center panel change throughout the shopping experience. When signing in, an email address and password fields are displayed. After you login, this area greets you with a personalized welcome message. We will display any special messages for you on the home page.


As you navigate through the menu options, you will see the center panel displays Featured Items based on the category you are shopping. Once you select the final level of categories, a list of items is displayed. All sale items are flagged in the Center Panel while you are logged in during your shopping experience.


When checking out, the center panel expands to provide the steps of the checkout process.


The following is a list of navigation tools and features of this display:


Images Check Box
With this checked, the product images are displayed. If you hover over an image it will display "Click for Details." Clicking the image brings up the details of the product. This may include nutritional facts of the product.


Show:
You can use this drop down to further define your products display. You can select the products to display by:


  • All Brands
  • My Favorites
  • Specials
  • Specific Brands

Sort:
You can select how you want the product display sorted - by brand or by price.




NAVIGATION


Main Links

These are standard links that will be available throughout the site. You can use these links to return to the Home page, Sign In, access My Account features, View Cart, go to Checkout, or access Help sections.


Home

Returns you back to the home page of the website

Sign In

Returns you to the Sign In panel

My Account

Allows you to manage your account information

View Cart

Displays your shopping cart. Includes the items you want to buy, the quantity or weight of each, and item totals. Also, you have the ability to modify your order and view the subtotal.

Check Out

Takes you to the start of the checkout process

Help

Provides links to detailed help areas, such as:

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and Answers
  • Shopping Directions
  • Store & Privacy Policies/Terms of Use
  • Contact Us
  • Forgot Your Password?
  • Refer a Friend

Category Links

Theses top line links can be used to navigate to specific categories or sections of the site.


Shop Departments Menu

You can use this multi-level menu to select the category of the store you wish to shop. As you drill down into each category, you will be taken deeper into the menu.


As an example, a shopper first selects Grocery. That expands the menu to additional categories such as Baby Store, Bakery, and Beverages. Then our shopper selects Beverages which expands the menu to Beer, Cocoa, Coffee, etc.


Notice the plus (+) sign next to Beer. This plus sign indicates more categories beneath it. The minus (-) sign indicates this menu can collapse and all the categories under Coffee would be hidden, and the minus sign would return to a plus sign.


Banner Advertising

You may notice some new advertisements on our website. By clicking on one of these ads, we'll show you all of the products associated with that ad. For example, clicking on a Kellogg's ad will bring up all of the Kellogg's items that we have available. You can add them to your cart or save them to a list right from that page. So be sure to look for the ads for products that you buy every time!





SEARCH


Search Bar

Our predictive search engine will help you zero in on the products you want. In the Search bar, you can simply type in the name of the product, brand, type, or anything about the product you wish to find. The result will be shown in the Central Panel (see above). This result may include links to further searches for the product entered


Can't Find It?

You can also use the Can't Find It? button to request an item be added to an order. If you cannot find a product, you can select the Can't Find It? button.

Enter the Description of the product, the Size, and the quantity (Qty).

You must select the Add To Active List or Add To Cart button for it to be included with the order. As stated, the store will do it's best to fill the request.





SHOPPING LISTS


Customized Lists

Another enhanced feature of our website allows you to access and save shopping lists. As a returning customer, you will see three lists in the Master List section of the new website:

Master List - includes all items bought online during the past 13 months

Last Cart - includes all items from your last order on our previous website

My Favorites - includes all of your previous favorites


Master List = Past Orders

All of the items you’ve ordered during the past year have been saved in the new Master List functionality. You can find any item you’ve bought within this list and add it to your current cart.


Last Cart List

We’ve also created a special list for you that contains the items that were in your last order on our previous website. This list will constantly update with each new order you place.


My Favorites

In order to make your online shopping even easier, we've saved all of your previous favorites from our old site and they can now be found in the new Master List section of our website in a list named "My Favorites".


Create a List

At any time during your shopping session, you can save the items to a shopping list. So, if you buy the same items every time, you can save time by shopping and saving a list. Then when you return, instead of starting all over again, you can simply choose that shopping list and go to check out.


You can also modify the list before checking out.

1 Select the down arrow to choose a shopping list.

2 Select View.

The Center Panel (see above) displays the items in the shopping list. You can select which items you want for your current shopping list or select all items by selecting the Select All button. Then select Add To Cart. You can always select Checkout or View Cart and modify the order before checking out.





SHOPPING CART


Managing Your Cart

As you select items to buy, they will appear in our new perpetual shopping cart on the right hand side. The shopping cart lists the items, the categories items are in, and the number and/or weight of each item. The last item added will be at the top of the list.


To change the quantity or weight of an item:

1 Select the item from the list. The item selected is displayed at the top of the list.

2 Change the amount of the item by using the up/down arrow. If the weight needs to change, use the drop down arrow to select the weight.

3 To add a note to the individual item, select Add Notes.

At the bottom of the cart, you will see the estimated total. The links to View Cart and Checkout are also available.


Substitution Policy

At A&P, our goal is to have the items you want in stock at all times. However, there may be times when an item is unavailable due to low inventory or special instructions. To ensure you get the items you need, we offer the option of substituting a similar item during the online checkout process.


If you choose to Allow Substitutions, please check the appropriate box when viewing your cart or during the checkout process. We will select a comparable replacement at the cost of the replacement item. Our substitution policy is first to select the same brand item in another size. If that is not possible, we then select the same size in a comparable brand. You will be charged the actual price of the substituted item. If you would prefer us to substitute only within the brand or size ordered, please tell us in the “Add an Item Note” box. Otherwise, you have the option of checking “Do not Substitute” for each item. In the rare instance that more than three items are out of stock, your Personal Shopper will contact you directly to inform you of any changes.




RESERVE TIMESLOT


You can use the Reserve Time link to reserve a pick up or delivery time anytime during your shopping visit. That way the time is reserved and will not be taken by another shopper while you are shopping. Please note that you must be signed in to use this feature and that the reservation will last for 60 minutes.


To reserve a pickup time:

1 Select the Pickup radio button.

2 Select a Day for pickup

3 Select a Time for pickup

4 Select the Continue Shopping button.


To reserve a delivery time:

1 Select the Delivery radio button.

2 Select a Day for delivery

3 Select a Time for delivery

4 Select the Continue Shopping button.





CHECKOUT


When you select Checkout, the Center Panel expands over the Shop Departments and Shopping Cart areas.

The top of the new page displays the process you will go through to complete the checkout process. Please note that you must be signed in to complete checkout.


Step 1 - Review Cart:

The first step is Review Cart. You are able to review, modify, or empty your shopping cart. You can also add general comments and/or instructions. These comments can be special requests for additional items or instructions like, "Please slice the turkey very thin."


Step 2 - Address:

The next step is to enter your address information. You can verify or edit your billing information. If you are placing a delivery order and the delivery address is different from the billing address, the delivery address information must also be entered.


Step 3 - Fulfillment:

Next you can choose how you'd like to receive the order - by Pickup or Delivery. Once you decide, you just need to select a date and a time and we'll make sure it is ready for you.


Step 4 - Place Order:

Finally, the last step is to confirm and place the order. You'll see a summary of your order and the payment options. You can review and modify any order information before placing your order. If everything looks right, select a payment method and the click the Place Order button to submit the order. You'll then receive your Order Confirmation number and the option to ReferAFriend to our service.


Delivery Fees

All online orders will be charged a $5.00 service fee.


In addition, A&P offers a new tiered fee structure for our delivery fees. The more you buy, the more you’ll save on delivery!

Discounts on the delivery fee will be reflected in the Special Promotions area of checkout.


Please note that the estimated delivery fees will be based on your estimated order size as displayed on the website, but your actual delivery fee will be based on your actual order size.


Promotions

A&P offers valuable special promotions to our loyal online customers. Be sure to register and sign up for our weekly emails and we’ll notify you of any upcoming offers.


First Time Customers:  All first time customers receive $10 off their first order of $50 or more. Some restrictions apply.


Refer A Friend:  For every friend you refer that shops with us, you’ll receive a credit for $5 off a future order. And, when your friend places their first order of $50 or more, they’ll receive our new customer discount of $10 off on that order.


Promotion Restrictions:

  • Offers may be for a limited-time only.
  • Limit one of each offer per household/office.
  • Offers cannot be combined with any other offer.
  • All standard customer terms and conditions apply.
  • Online shopping service available in select areas.
  • All offers void where prohibited.

Payment Methods

Recently, we enhanced our checkout page to offer new payment options for delivery. You’ll notice that the credit card information associated with your account is no longer available. Payment Card Industry (PCI) provides standards aimed at protecting you, the consumer, from credit card fraud and identity theft. In order to protect your privacy and identity as well as comply with those standards guidelines, we do not store any payment information on our web servers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the safety and security of our customers is very important to us.


Currently, the online shopping service accepts payment with a valid credit card or through a valid PayPal account. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are all accepted.


PayPal

When you select PayPal during checkout, you will have the ability to pay with your personal credit card as a guest or through a valid personal PayPal account. By registering with PayPal, you can apply your payment information to all future orders. However, a PayPal account is not required for credit card transactions. There are no additional fees for using PayPal.


*Please Note: You will receive an order confirmation email with your estimated total from A&P Fresh Online once you place your order. You will also receive two emails from PayPal. The initial email from PayPal will state that you have authorized a payment to our store. You will receive a final email receipt from PayPal when your order total has been finalized at the store. You will only be charged once, after the total has been finalized at the store.


Authorization Holds

To ensure that your order is processed without delay, an additional amount is being reserved to cover some of the common situations that may arise during online grocery shopping:


  • A specific product isn't available and you have authorized a substitute, which is more expensive.
  • Items that vary in weight, whose total price is higher than was estimated.
  • Any "can't find it" items, since their prices are unknown until suitable products are located.

The actual total will be available when the order is picked by your personal shopper, and we will never charge your card more than that.


If you are concerned about the amount that we have reserved, you can reduce the number of items having estimated prices by browsing each category as thoroughly as possible and by using the "search" utility for any item that you cannot find.


Debit Cards

PayPal accepts payments by credit or debit card. However, if you use your debit card, you may see the initial authorized amount show up immediately as pending on your bank account. Once the store finalizes the order, you will also see the final amount on your account. The initial authorization will eventually be released (length of time is determined by your bank) and the final total charged by the store will remain.
